Website/applications interface designer with over seventeen years experience designing corporate and small business websites. Made the transition to web design and development in 1993. Fourteen years as a commercial photographer specializing in product, lifestyle and architechural photography. Client list includes Kraft / General Foods, ALASCOM, Ford MotorCraft, Nordstrom Department Stores, Cal Jordan, Milton Bradley Toys, Spaulding, Coca Cola, Marriott Hosts, Smith & Wesson, Arthur Rutenburg Homes, and others. After leaving the commercial photgraphy field, accepted a contract with Norwegian Cruise Line as a bandleader aboard the S/S Norway. During this time became expert with Cakewalk Pro Audio software. ABOUT James
I was an Army "brat", so home was anywhere my dad was stationed. As you can imagine we traveled extensively, which has allowed me to embrace many regions and their cultures. Upon graduation I enlisted in the United States Navy, giving me more opportunities to travel. As a communications specialist in the western Pacific I worked with very primitive computers, by todays' standards, leading to a lifelong interest in electronics.
As I was growing up I played music in various local bands with visions of becoming "rock stars," and then working as a session musician part time in Hollywood, while working full time as a commercial photographer. Later on this experience would come in handy and instrumental in landing a contract with Norwegian Cruise Line as a bandleader. (Photo: On stage aboard the S/S Norway) It was during this time that my love for music and computers merged. I was introduced to "Cakewalk," a music sequencing program. With it I could accompany live musicians with computer generated music. After a time I became so proficient with it that the software manufacturer would refer their customers with more difficult technical problems to me for answers. I was offered a position with the company, but the idea of relocation at that time was not an option.
Without going into the "life story of JR," I can say that I consider myself a well rounded person who has had the good fortune to encounter such a wide variety of rich life experiences. I believe that it is these experiences which give me a unique perspective in my life and my work.
